The Mass Time application includes a Virtual Confession Guide feature. The following additional terms apply specifically to this feature.
The Virtual Confession Guide is an AI-powered preparation tool. It is not the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and it does not provide sacramental absolution, forgiveness of sins, or any form of spiritual direction recognized by the Catholic Church or any religious authority. Only an ordained priest can administer the Sacrament of Reconciliation and grant absolution. The Virtual Confession Guide is intended solely to help users reflect and prepare for the sacrament with a priest.
The responses generated by the Virtual Confession Guide are produced by artificial intelligence and are for informational and reflective purposes only. They do not constitute spiritual direction, theological counsel, medical advice, psychological counseling, or professional advice of any kind. You should not rely on the AI's responses as a substitute for guidance from a priest, licensed counselor, medical professional, or other qualified person. If you are experiencing a crisis, thoughts of self-harm, or are in danger, please contact emergency services or a qualified professional immediately.
The Virtual Confession Guide uses an AI language model that may produce responses that are inaccurate, incomplete, or inconsistent with Catholic teaching. Waltsoft Inc does not guarantee the theological accuracy, completeness, or appropriateness of any AI-generated response. The AI may make errors regarding Church doctrine, Scripture, canon law, or moral theology. Users are encouraged to verify any guidance with a priest or qualified Catholic resource.
By using the Virtual Confession Guide, you acknowledge and agree that:
The Virtual Confession Guide is intended for users aged 17 and older. By using this feature, you represent and warrant that you are at least 17 years of age. If you are between 13 and 17, you may only use this feature with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian. Users under 13 are prohibited from using the Virtual Confession Guide.
Communications with the Virtual Confession Guide are not protected by priest-penitent privilege, the seal of confession, or any similar legal or canonical protection. The Virtual Confession Guide is an AI system, not a priest or religious authority. Do not disclose information through this feature that you would only share under the protection of the sacramental seal or attorney-client privilege.
You agree not to use the Virtual Confession Guide to:
Waltsoft Inc does not owe you a duty of care, fiduciary duty, or pastoral obligation through the Virtual Confession Guide. The AI is a software tool, not a counselor, spiritual director, or religious authority. No relationship of trust, confidence, or reliance is created by your use of this feature.
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Waltsoft Inc, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Virtual Confession Guide; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your reliance on AI-generated content; or (d) any content you share through the feature.
Waltsoft Inc reserves the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue the Virtual Confession Guide at any time without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. Session time limits, pricing, and features are subject to change. The AI's system prompt, personality, and theological framework may be updated at any time to improve accuracy and user experience.
The Virtual Confession Guide relies on third-party cloud services (Amazon Web Services) for AI processing. Waltsoft Inc is not responsible for outages, errors, or data handling by third-party providers. Your use of the Virtual Confession Guide is also subject to the AWS Service Terms.
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, without regard to conflict of law principles. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Waltsoft Inc regarding the Virtual Confession Guide and supersede any prior agreements or understandings.
